Mayor’s Spirit Award and Tulsey Winners Announced
Three Tulsa businesses received checks from SpiritBank for winning the Mayor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. First place winner, Grocio.com, received $30,000, second place winner, Lidy Mac, LLC, received $5,000 and third place winner, Lundeby’s Eco Baby received $25,000. The Mayor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award is designed to promote small business growth in Tulsa by providing networking and other business opportunities to area small businesses.
The Tulsey Awards, who recognize the pioneers and innovators of the Tulsa community, were announced in 10 categories. More than 2,600 votes were submitted and the person who received the most votes was awarded the Tulsey Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This year’s Tulsey Entrepreneur of the Year was Elliot Nelson, who received more than 46 percent of the public vote.
Grocio.com, awarded first place in the Mayor’s Spirit competition is a comparison-shopping engine for groceries. With your zip code and grocery list, Grocio.com tells which grocer has the least expensive total checkout while providing valuable coupons matching the purchases. Gerald Buckley, owner and CEO of Grocio.com, secured a $30,000 match from i2e as the grand-prize winner of the Mayor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. i2e is a private non-profit Oklahoma corporation focused on wealth creation by growing the technology-based entrepreneurial economy within our state.
Lidy Mac, LLC, is the creator of a commercially propriety design of an infant crib bumper guard taking second place, and The Lundeby’s Eco Baby, came in third with a retail marketing business focused on marketing ecologically friendly and socially responsible goods. Lidy Mac, LLC, received at check of $5,000 and Lundeby’s Eco Baby received a check of $2,500, both provided by Spirit Bank. www.tulsaspiritaward.com
