Started off crazy. Morgan called me about 7:30 from school, and of course, my phone died before I could figure out what was wrong. So, I had to start the day off with a little anxiety. I did manage to pick him up and get back home before Maegan caught her bus. She was upset because Grandma had to help her get ready for school this morning. Apparently, no one is as good as Momma for either one of my kids. You know, a mom could get an ego over this kind of behavior. Then again, I have James and Mom to kill any ego the kids give me.

We made it to Maegan’s assembly Friday morning. It was nice. There were quite a few kids getting the “kind heart” award that Maegan received. I think each class selected two kids to receive the award. We were all a little (ok, some were a lot) surprised when Maegan brought home the letter telling us about the assembly and award. Maegan isn’t exactly known for her “kind consideration of others” at home. Maybe we should take that as a sign that Maegan’s “meanness” has more to do with us and less to do with any inherent unkindness on her part. Her psychiatrist has already said that we could benefit from some family therapy. Now I just have to make James go with us.

I guess I’m going to leave it short and personal today. Hope everyone survives their Monday as well. Tomorrow is a whole other day.
