Ren Faire

by

We went out to the Renaissance Faire at Martin Regional Library Saturday, despite all the rain. It felt like there were a billion people there, many of them in costume. I swear, that was the most crowded I have ever seen a library.

It’s too bad I didn’t think to take my camera with us. Maegan got to “pet” a red-tailed hawk, and is still super excited about. She can’t wait to tell her classmates this morning.

The rain had forced all of the scheduled outside events to either cancel or move inside. That caused a lot of chaos, but, overall, the faire was still quite fun. James and Morgan played chess with a cool Lord of the Rings set. I think James won.

Me, Mom, and Maegan watched a trio of belly dancers. They were pretty good, Mom liked the blonde best and, of course, Maegan liked the redhead. I just know that one dancer was the tallest belly dancer I have ever seen. We watched most of their performance, I think, before ADHD girl needed to move on to something else. That, in and of itself, was impressive. Holding the girl’s attention is no small feat.

It’s time for the school bus, so I”m outta here for now.
