Tulsa Transit…
…Begins Park and Save Program
Mayor Kathy Taylor, in partnership with Tulsa Transit, has announced a new “Park and Save” program to provide commuters easier access to public transportation on MTTA buses. This program will help Tulsans save gas money and ride a bus even if they do not live near a bus stop.
“Park and Save” was begun in November 2008 through cooperation between MTTA and locations along bus routes. These locations have agreed to allow bus riders to park their vehicles in their lots and board the bus at the nearest stop. Bus riders may leave their cars at these lots until the bus brings them back on a return trip. “Park and Save” hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. There currently is no bus service on Sundays.
“These participating locations along Tulsa Transit routes have stepped forward to offer parking spaces in their lots for use by commuters who need a place to park their vehicle before catching a city bus,” Mayor Taylor said. “These lots are marked ‘Park and Save’ because they allow more Tulsa residents to save money by using our public transit system.”
Participants in “Park and Save” so far include Carbondale Church of Christ, Calvary Baptist Church at 7216 E. Admiral Pl., Crossroads Full Gospel Tabernacle, Green Country Event Center, Garnett Road Baptist Church, Eleventh Street Baptist Church, Epworth United Methodist Church, Neighbor for Neighbor, Park Plaza Church of Christ, Sand Springs Church of God, The Heart Church, and Victory Christian Center.
